We recently converted our cabin at Lay Lake from an old abandoned grill space to a charming vacation rental with the most beautiful sunset and lake views from the new deck!

You can now book a getaway to this waterfront cabin at Cedar Creek Marina overlooking Alabama’s beautiful Lay Lake. This vacation rental is located near Childersburg, AL and Sylacauga, AL. Local restaurants include Big Daddy’s and Lori Darlins, plus fast food on Hwy 280 (about a 15 min drive). It is also located within 5 miles of Pursell Farms and the local Dollar General. Other local attractions include DeSoto Caverns, Morgan Creek Winery, Kymulga Grist Mill Park, Old Baker Farm, and Butler-Harris Rainwater Museum.

This cabin provides the ideal spot for fishing, boating, and enjoying lake life recreation. Boat ramps and ethanol free gas are available on property, along with a jet ski & kayak rental service. Events include seasonal food trucks and fishing tournaments. Bring your boat!

Cabin history: The cabin was originally built in the early 1960’s as a cabin, and converted to a grill restaurant in recent years. The chimney pit had been covered over and not used as part of the restaurant. It was a fun discovery when converting it back to a cabin! The serving windows are still there. The one over the sink was used to serve the outdoor diners, and the one behind the artwork was used for to go orders. With the recent struggles for small businesses, specifically the food and restaurant industries, we decided this unique space would be best used as it was originally intended: a quaint cabin retreat on the beautiful waterfront of Lay Lake!
