Riverchase Remodel - Transformation of a 70's home.

This home on Riverchase Parkway in Hoover, AL was built in 1978 as one of the first 20 homes in the sought after Riverchase Community. This was before neighborhood communities like Ross Bridge and Greystone were popular. Being built in the 70's, this home didn't have hardwoods under the carpeting like you see on those home improvement shows. We ended up replacing the old carpeting and particle board under it with oak flooring which we sanded and stained a dark walnut. We hired Rodgers Flooring for this job and could not have been more pleased with their work! All the wallpaper and popcorn ceiling was removed and every inch of the interior walls got a fresh coat of paint from Estes Painting. We chose a combination of Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, Chelsea Gray, and Swiss Coffee for this home. We kept the original wood cabinetry, but painted them (Swiss Coffee) and added new hardware. We removed the cabinets over the stovetop to include a stainless vent hood and removed the paneling over the cabinets and added crown moulding to the top. The subway tile backsplash with dove gray grout was a no brainer along with granite countertops (Branco Dallas from Maranatha is my favorite). All the vintage light fixtures were replaced with rustic style fixtures made up of oil-rubbed bronze, glass and wood.

Below are a few of the before and after photos of this home renovation.
